About Us
Hello,
My name is Kris and I’d like to thank you for stopping by my webpage to view my seed grown Haworthia plants. I started growing these amazing Succulents over 18 years ago as a hobby. I started collecting the best plants I can find from all over the world. Many of my plants came from Japan, Africa, Europe and here in Southern California where there are many Hawothia collectors. As my hobby progressed, I learned how to pollinate and raise Haworthias from seed. Now, I have many original seed grown plants to share with my fellow Haworthia enthusiasts.
I specialize in Haworthias and only sell Hawothia plants on my webpage. All of my plants are produced from seed or leaf/root/offset propagation, NOT tissue culture (TC). I do not grow or sell tissue culture plants as there are many problems associated with tissue culture. In today’s Haworthia markets, the large majority of Haworthias are created overseas by tissue culture, which I avoid for various reasons. In short, tissue culture is far inferior to seed grow plants, often grow weak/slow and die once obtained by the new owner. This is only an example but there are many other deficiencies.
My nursery is in Los Angeles, California USA and ran online by me only. My specialty is Haworthia magnifica var splendens and many varieties of hybrids that I have created through hand pollination. I also use crowing, offset propagation and leaf propagation in my nursery.
I have spent many years creating new hybrids with unique window patterns, lines, colors and leaf shapes. I have a big inventory of Japanese mother plants that I used to create new plants with desired characteristics. Many of my amazing hybrids are now available on my web page. I’m always working on creating new hybrids and cultivars which are often available for sale. In addition to seed-grown Haworthia hybrids, I also offer some offsets from my mother plants and mature breeding plants.
I have been hybridizing plants for many years using mother plants I originally obtained from some of the best growers around the world. I created new seedlings and selected the ones with the best potential for future breeding programs. These plants are now the mother plants I use for breeding.
When I originally got started growing Haworthias, my goal was to improve my seedlings each year and it has slowly paid off. I now want my buyers to have plants from my own seedlings which essentially have my own breeding stamp on each plant. Now other growers can enjoy my works and hopefully, you too can be inspired to create your own unique plants.
Please contact me if you have any questions or specific plant requests and I will do my best to help you with your requests. I have a Facebook and Instagram page where I will also be promoting my plants. I hope to see you again soon as I will be uploading new plants every week. Please give me feedback so that I can continue to improve both my plants and sales experience for my customers. Your comments are appreciated and will help me become a better hybridizer to meet your expectations
Thanks for visiting my website and I hope you come back soon
